Unveiling the Invisible Heart of New Energy Vehicles

New energy vehicle air conditioning compressors are mainly composed of three parts:
1. Drive part
(1) Type: Usually a permanent magnet synchronous motor.
(2) Features: high efficiency, low noise, long life, and precise control. It directly receives high-voltage direct current from the battery and converts it into mechanical energy.
2. Compression mechanism
(1) Type: The scroll type is currently the most mainstream type. A pair of dynamic and static scrolls mesh to form a series of closed air chambers. Through the rotation of the dynamic disk, the volume of the air chamber changes continuously, thereby sucking in, compressing and discharging the refrigerant.
(2) Features: smooth operation, low noise and vibration, and high efficiency, but because it is an aluminum part, it is easily deformed and damaged at high temperatures.
3. Control Unit (Brain)
(1) Integrated Inverter: This is the "brain" of the electric compressor and is usually integrated directly into the compressor housing.
(2) Function: Receives commands from the vehicle's air conditioning control panel (A/C switch, temperature setting, air volume, etc.) and inverts the high-voltage DC power from the power battery into three-phase AC power, precisely controlling the speed and torque of the drive motor, thereby achieving stepless adjustment of the refrigerant displacement.
